Cardinals Finish Ninth, Kim Ties for Fifth

PORT CLINTON, Ohio. – Liz Kim paced the Ball State women's golf team in the final round with a 78 (+6) and tied for fifth overall. The Cardinals finished the Rocket Classic in ninth with a combined total of 959 (+95).
The par-72, 6,118-yard Catawba Island Club proved to be an extremely difficult course as no team or individual finished the tournament under par.
Kim posted a final-round score of 78 (+6) and finished with a three-round mark of 227 (+11). She tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard. Kim was just one of two individuals to record an eagle on the difficult course and during the challenging weather.
Morgan Lewis posted a final-round score of 81 (+9) and finished in 41st. Ja Santadusit picked up a birdie on the par-5 fifth and ended the round with a 78 (+6). Santadusit finished in 42nd. Tiegan Taylor tied for 43rd, while Payton Bennett tied for 48th and Dylann Armstrong tied for 51st.
Central Michigan won the tournament with a team effort of 900 (+36). CMU also had the top-two finishers as Casilda Allendesalazar won with a 222 (+6) and Claudia Salvador came in second with a 225 (+9).
The Cardinals conclude the fall portion of the schedule on Monday, Oct. 18, at the Ozarks National Invitational.

"The last two days we were led by Liz, who played solid and steady all tournament. She found herself in contention heading into the final round. While the winds picked up and her putts weren't falling, she remained poised and had the title within reach. She and the rest of the team are ready to finish strong next week."
