SET-BY-SET SUMMARY
Set One (OSU 25, BSU 16)- Things looks promising for the Cardinals when they opened the match with a 3-1 lead. The tables quickly turned when Ohio State ripped off an 11-1 run. The Cardinals quickly faded, and Ohio State claimed an early advantage in the match.
Set Two (BSU 29, OSU 27)- It took overtime and every ounce of effort from BSU not to fall into a 2-0 hole. The Cardinals appeared to be cruising with a 22-18 lead, but OSU scored the next five to go up 23-22. Despite giving away its lead, Ball State earned set point at 24-23. It took a total of five set points, but the Cardinals finally finished off the set and turned the tide.
Set Three (BSU 26, OSU 24)- Just like the second set, the third was decided in overtime. It was back and forth the entire way until Ball State earned set point with the score at 24-23. This time though, the Cardinals capitalized on their second opportunity when Szews put down a kill to give BSU the 2-1 lead it was looking for.
Set Four (BSU 25, OSU 18)- After two gut-check wins in the previous two sets, the Cardinals had all the momentum and it showed in the match's final game. BSU used an early 7-1 run to go up by five and never looked back.
