SET-BY-SET SUMMARY
Set One (BSU 25, DC 18)- It was all BSU from the beginning of the opening set as the Cardinals were up 10-3 before Daemen could finally score back-to-back points. The Ball State lead grew as big as 10 before the Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the match.
Set Two (BSU 25, DC 20)- The Wildcats didn't let the deficit get quite as big in the second set but BSU gradually gained separation with multiple 3-0 runs. Daemen went on a late 5-1 run to make the score closer than suggested, but Szews finally put an end to the set when he killed a pass from Courtland Scharenborg.
Set Three (BSU 29, DC 27)- The third and final set was by far the most thrilling of the night. Daemen led nearly the entire time and secured set point at 24-19. An attack error by the Wildcats was the start of a 5-0 run from the Cardinals which Reardon led from the service line to tie the set at 24 apiece. The teams traded points before a 3-0 BSU run to secure the match on a Scharenborg service ace.
BALL STATE NOTES
