2020: Appeared in 16 matches and 37 sets … recorded a season-high 36 assists in BSU’s sweep of Queens … notched 21 assists in a sweep over Urbana … recorded six aces as a serving specialist for the Cardinals … earned a season-high six digs in the Queens match … finished the year with nine kills, 79 assists, 17 digs and three blocks … season was cut short due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
2019: Played in 20 matches and 62 sets for Ball State... was second on the team with a total of 385 assists... had a season-high 50 assists against UC Santa Barbara... added 29 kills while hitting .389... totaled 13 service aces, 51 digs and 20 blocks... named to the Academic All-MIVA Team.
2018: Earned second letter at Ball State... competed in 29 matches for the Cardinals, including 24 starts… All-MIVA Second Team… MIVA player of the week two times… tallied 49 kills, 27 service aces, 46 total blocks…notched 878 assists on the season, which places him eighth in school history… also seventh in school history is career assists per set (7.26) after averaging 9.05 assists per set this season… finished the season with 101.5 points
2017: Earned his first letter at Ball State… saw action in 24 sets… recorded on service ace in the victory over Erskine (Jan. 6)
2016: Redshirt for the Cardinals in his freshman year.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year letter winner under head coach Kevin Mielcarek at William Horlick High School ... posted 69 aces, 300 kills and 437 assists in his senior season at William Horlick ... was named to First Team All-Conference two years, while also earning High Honorable Mention All-State as a junior and second team All-State as a senior ... was a two-time sectional champions and two-time conference champion, while earning a 9-1 record overall in his senior season ... a multi-sport athlete, Romano holds the second most pars and third most birdies for his high school golf team, where he was also a sectional qualifier and All-State Academic ... held a 3.725 GPA and has been on the honor roll two years running in addition to being a three-year scholar athlete.
