It's spring break trip time for Ball State baseball, as the Cardinals have nine games in 10 days on the schedule. The first leg of the trip has four games this weekend against tough competition in Greenville, S.C. BSU will take on Western Carolina, a doubleheader vs. Kansas and close Sunday with event host school Michigan State.
This weekend's games will be played at Fluor Field, the home of Boston Red Sox affiliate Greenville Drive. The dimensions of the field are almost identical to Fenway Park.

Ball State (2-4) is coming off a road series win at Houston Baptist. Seniors Ross Messina and Aaron Simpson each delivered clutch hits to help BSU to extra-innings wins before HBU took the weekend finale. Simpson hit .375 last weekend with six extra-base hits, including an 11th-inning homer on Saturday.

Justin Conant went 7-for-14 in Houston and is batting .364 on the young season. Conant, Simpson and Messina each have a team-leading eight hits while Noah Navarro and Trenton Quartermaine leads the team in runs scored.

Following the weekend's games in Greenville, Ball State will stop in North Carolina to play at Gardner-Webb before another neutral-site event in South Carolina to close the trip.
