ABOUT LINDENWOOD (9-6, 2-2 MIVA)
The Lions started MIVA play hot with wins over Purdue Fort Wayne and Loyola. They have since lost back-to-back matches at McKendree and Lewis entering Friday's tilt with Ball State. AJ Lewis leads the team in both kills and digs with 161.
SERIES HISTORY
Ball State leads the all-time series with Lindenwood by a count of 17-3. The Lions won the most recent match in five sets a season ago.
ABOUT QUINCY (4-11, 1-3 MIVA)
The Hawks pulled off a stunning upset against No. 9 Purdue Fort Wayne on the opening weekend of MIVA play. Since then, Quincy has fallen to Lewis and McKendree, but will square off against Ohio State before Ball State comes to town. Omari Wheeler owns 169 kills to pace the Hawks.
SERIES HISTORY
Ball State has defeated Quincy in 51 of 56 all-time meetings. The Cardinals took down the Hawks twice in 2019.
BALL STATE STORYLINES
PARTY LIKE IT'S 1999: Ball State defeated Loyola in Chicago for the first time since 1999 last weekend. The Cardinals dug themselves in an early hole and faced a 0-2 deficit but fought back to earn the historic victory in a five-set thriller.
400: The win in Chicago had a little more historic value to it than just snapping the losing streak. Head coach Joel Walton won the 400th match of his career as head coach at Ball State. Walton is just the ninth Division I coach in NCAA history to reach the mark and own the second-most wins among active coaches.
REARDON'S BIG NIGHT: Senior Blake Reardon played a key part in BSU's big win in Chicago. The senior set career highs in both kills and digs with 26 and 15, respectively.
