BSU junior finishes runner-up in Battle at Boulder Creek
FINAL RESULTS
BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- Ball State's Liz Kim finished runner-up, but Drake overtook the Cardinals in the final round Tuesday to win the Battle at Boulder Creek.
It was a challenging day with sustained winds at 17 miles per hour and gusts up to 30. Drake handled the conditions the best, shooting a final-round 310, 19 better than the rest of the field, to win by 18.
Ball State led by one entering the final day in the four-team field. The Cardinals finished as runner-up in their first spring event.
Kim finished just one shot behind individual champion Haeri Lee of Drake. She hovered around the top of the leaderboard throughout the event, sitting in first after round one and second after round two.
Ball State placed four other golfers in the top 10 – Manon Tounalom (7), Hadley Moritz (T10) and Morgan Lewis (T10) – out of the 26 golfers competing.
The Cardinals will return to action Feb. 21-23 with their annual trip to the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational in Arizona.
