Ball State kicks its spring season into high gear this week with its annual trip to Arizona for the Rio Verde Invitational.
The Cardinals are coming off a second-place finish in a four-team event at the Battle at Boulder Creek in their first action of the spring. Liz Kim led the team with a runner-up finish individually on her way to MAC Golfer of the Week honors.
Ball State has played at Rio Verde every year since 2006 and finished tied for 10th last year. BSU senior Manon Tounalom will be making her fourth straight appearance at the tournament. She has led the Cardinals in each of her previous three seasons, never finishing worse than a tie for 26th.
This week's action will also provide an early look at most of BSU's MAC competition. Eight of the 10 league teams will be competing at Rio Verde.
