- Wednesday's game against Kent State will mark the 61st time in program history the two schools have me with the Golden Flashes leading the all-time series, 38-22.
- The Cardinals have won eight of their last 10 meetings against Kent State.
- This season Ball State opened MAC play against Kent State at home. The Cardinals defeated the Golden Flashes by a score of 66-62 in Worthen Arena on Jan. 4. The win marked the 22nd year the Cardinals had not lost at home to Kent State.
- The last time Ball State fell to the Golden Flashes was three years ago after suffering a 59-50 setback on Feb. 13 in the M.A.C Center.Â
- Both Ball State head coach Brady Sallee and assistant coach Ryan Patterson both had coaching stints at Kent State. Sallee was an assistant women's basketball coach from 1996-2002. Patterson was a member of the Golden Flashes men's staff from 2000-2002. He returned to Kent State as a women's basketball assistant in 2011-12.
- The Cardinals are looking to extend their win streak to three after earning victories over Buffalo and Miami last week in MAC action. So far this season, Ball State owns a 4-1 record against the MAC East Division.

Scouting Kent State:
- Kent State enters tonight's contest with a 10-7 overall record and a 3-3 Mid-American Conference ledger. The Golden Flashes fell to Buffalo in the M.A.C Center Saturday afternoon by a score of 57-44. Kent State led for more than 21 minutes throughout the contest but the Bulls outscored the Golden Flashes 27-11 in the final frame to earn the ball game.
- Last season Kent State won the MAC East Division title for the first time since the 2004-05 season which was under former head coach Bob Lindsay. Both current Ball State head coach Brady Sallee and assistant coach Ryan Patterson coached with the Golden Flashes legendary former coach.
-Â The Golden Flashes have four players averaging double figures per contest; Nila Blackford (14.1 ppg), Asiah Dingle (12.6 ppg), Katie Shumate (11.5 ppg) and Lindsey Thall (10.9 ppg).
- The first-ever meeting betweeen Ball State and Kent State was the 1979-80 season. The Golden Flashes won that meeting by a score of 84-59 in Ohio. Ball State has currently taking the last four meetings from Kent State.
Moving On Up:
Junior forward Oshlynn Brown is moving up the all-time rebounds list at Ball State. She currently ranks 8th with 711 rebounds. Brown needs 11 rebounds to take sole possession of the 8th spot which is currently held by former Cardinal Porchia Green (2006-09) with 709 rebounds. Brown is also nearing the 1,000 point mark she currently has 912 points and needs 88 to accomplish that feat.
