Men’s Volleyball Completes Five-Set Comeback to Down CSUN

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – On a night that saw the Ball State men's volleyball team fall behind 1-0 and 2-1, the Cardinals rallied both times to ultimately come away victorious and complete the five-set comeback at Cal State Northridge Friday night.
TEAM RECORDS
Ball State stayed perfect on the year and improved to 3-0 while CSUN dropped to 1-4.
IMPACT PERFORMANCE
Sophomore Kaleb Jenness had a match-high 22 kills while hitting .389. He added one assist, one ace, five digs and two solo blocks on the night.

BALL STATE NOTES
-Friday's win marked the second-straight year the Cardinals have defeated the Matadors in five sets. The two teams squared off in the Don Shondell Active Ankle Challenge last season in Muncie.
-With two service aces Friday night, Szews tied the school record for service aces in the rally-scoring era (111). His next ace will give him the record.
-In its first two matches, Ball State won every call it challenged. Both of BSU's challenges Friday night were unsuccessful.
-The win against CSUN marked the Cardinals' first 3-0 start since 2015. BSU went on to start 4-0 that year.

Ball State faces a quick turnaround and will play at No. 4 UC Santa Barbara Friday night. The Cardinals and Gauchos played to five sets last season with UCSB claiming victory. First serve is slated for 10 p.m. ET.
