Timothy Wiseman recognized for third straight season
MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State men's golf team placed four of its members on the 2019 Academic All-MAC Team released Monday.
Senior Timothy Wiseman earned the recognition for the third straight year and was joined by a trio of BSU sophomores -- Jack Cunningham, Keegan Bronnenberg and CJ Jones.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must own a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and participate in at least 50 percent of his team's events. Freshmen are not eligible.
Wiseman graduated in May with a 3.67 GPA in finance and was honored last week with the MAC Medal of Excellence. Cunningham owns a 3.61 GPA in actuarial science, Bronnenberg carries a 3.32 in business analytics, and Jones has a 3.23 in sport administration.
All four Ball State representatives finished with scoring averages better than 75 for the year, paced by Wiseman at 73.00 and Bronnenberg at 73.08.
They are now eligible for MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete voting, which will be conducted by the league's faculty athletics representatives.
