Time For Tip-Off
- Tonight's game against Buffalo will mark the 29th time in program history the two schools have met with the Cardinals leading the all-time series, 15-13. The Cardinals have won three of the five last regular season meetings against the Bulls.
- Buffalo won its first meeting over the Cardinals by a score of 77-65 at University Arena on Jan. 16.
- Tonight's game was originally scheduled to be played on Jan. 30 but due to severe weather and the closing of Ball State University the Cardinals and the Bulls had to reschedule.
- Both team's enter tonight's contest on losing streaks, Ball State has lost six in a row while the Bulls have lost two. Buffalo recent fell at Bowling Green (78-72) and against Central Michigan (100-95).
- The Cardinals had a near win Saturday over Eastern Michgian but lost in the closing minutes. Ball State had two players reach career highs that game, Maliah Howard-Bass scored a career best 20 points while Thelma Dis Agustsdottir pulled down a career high 12 rebounds.
- John E. Worthen Arena has been very good to the Cardinals for over a decade. Ball State has a record of 133-65 (.675) at Worthen Arena from 2004-present.
- Ball State will take on Toledo Saturday after the men's game for their last double-header of the season. The game will be the "Hoosieroons and Hoops Day" game.
About the Bulls
- Buffalo is on a two-game losing streak after suffering a 78-72 setback at Bowling Green on Feb. 13 and then lost to Central Michigan, 100-95. The Bulls have won all of their games against the Mid-American Conference West Division with the exception of Central Michigan. Buffalo dropped both of its games against the Chippewas this season.
- The Bulls have two players averaging, Cierra Dillard (25.2 ppg) and Summer Hemphill (14.1 ppg). Defensively, Buffalo is led by Hemphill who is averaging 9.5 rebounds per contest. Dillard is currently ranked second in the nation in points per game.Â
- The Bulls are led by Felisha Legette-Jack who is in her seventh season at the helm of the Buffalo women's basketball program. She was named the 12th head coach in UB women's basketball history on June 14, 2012. Prior to her arrival at Buffalo, Legette-Jack spent six years as the head coach of Indiana University. She is a 1989 graduate of Syracuse University and played for years for the Orange women.

The Cardinals continue their three-game homestand when it hosts the Toledo Rockets Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Worthen Arena. It will mark the final and third double-header of the season with the Ball State men's basketball team who will host Central Michigan at 2 p.m. The Hoosieroons will return to Muncie for the game – on "Hoosieroons and Hoops Day" inside Worthen Arena. In the early 1920s, when Ball State was known as the Indiana Normal School Eastern Division, its nickname was the Hoosieroons. The school's athletics teams received the "Cardinals" nickname in 1927, after the name was suggested by then-athletic director Paul "Billy" Williams and voted upon by the student body. The Cardinals will don Hoosieroons uniforms as part of the University's Centennial Celebration, harkening back to that time when Hoosieroons was the moniker for varsity teams.
