
Soccer Aims for Attendance Record at Final Regular Season Home Stand

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State University women's soccer team plays its final regular season home games of 2019 Thursday and Sunday with contests against Kent State and Ohio. The Cardinals are attempting to break the single-game attendance record of 808 at Sunday's game versus Ohio. Free drawstring backpacks and sunglasses will be given away along with other promotions.

ABOUT KENT STATE (5-7-3, 3-3-2)
The Golden Flashes enter Thursday's contest off a 1-1 draw against Central Michigan. Kent State has some impressive results on its schedule this season including a win against Syracuse. Vital Kats leads KSU this year with 21 points on eight goals and five assists. Cameron Shedenhelm has 16 points and Karly Hellstrom has chipped in 12. Faith O'Neill is the goalkeeper for Kent State and has 62 saves for the year.

Ball State holds a one game advantage in the series with Kent State, leading 11-10-2. The Golden Flashes won last season's meeting in Ohio, 1-0, on a last-second goal.

The Bobcats have won two straight matches against Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan and will square off against Miami before traveling to Muncie for Sunday's contest. Ohio started the season with six-straight wins before finally falling to Robert Morris. Alivia Milesky leads Ohio with 19 points on seven goals and five assists. Sydney Malham has started 15 games in goal for the Bobcats and has 62 saves.

Ohio holds a 7-11-4 record in the all-time series between the two schools. Last season's matchup between the Cardinals and Bobcats in Athens, Ohio resulted in a 1-1 draw after regulation and two overtime periods.
