White Team Claims Victory in Red & White Intrasquad Meet

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State University swimming and diving team held its annual Red and White meet with the White team coming out victorious with a 231-217 edge on Saturday morning at Lewellen Pool.
"It's great to get back to racing," said head coach J. Agnew. "It's good to get experience for the newcomers and have some fun. We're looking forward to starting the season next week at Purdue."
Liz Madison had a dominant, all-around day for the White team with three separate first-place finishes in the 150 Free, 400 Free and 300 IM. Rachel Bertram was likewise solid on the boards for the White team with a score of 154.13 in the three-meter dive and 134.63 on the one meter for a pair of first-place finishes.
Drew Weeks put together a pair of first place finishes for the Red team in both the 150 Free and 400 Free. Joining him was Cullen Tyler with two winning events in the 150 Breast and 300 IM.
Hunter Ongay replicated Bertram's performance for the White team with two first-place dives.
Prior to the final event, senior Lauren Elston was honored for being named one of Ball State's 18 Centennial Scholars.
Ball State will officially begin its regular season a week from now at the Indiana Intercollegiate, hosted by Purdue University on Saturday, Oct. 13.
