The Cardinals enter this week's competition with an overall record of 1-9 and a 1-1 Mid-American Conference ledger. Ball State played three games last week. After losing in overtime by a score of 5-4 at home to UC Davis, the Cardinals rebounded with their first win of the season at Appalachian State, 1-0, in overtime. Redshirt sophomore Rachel Pereira found the net at the 77:21 mark to give Ball State the victory over the Mountaineers. The Cardinals then wrapped up their road weekend with a loss to the nation's top team North Carolina on Sunday.
Louisville comes to Ball State with an overall record of 8-3 and is ranked 11th nationally. Louisville is coming off of a 2-0 victory at No. 15 Virginia last Saturday. Ball State and Louisville last met on Sept. 3, 2012, a 5-0 home win for UofL. Louisville leads the all-time series 15-11 and has won the last five over Ball State. BSU last defeated Louisville by a 2-1 decision Sept. 24, 2004 in Muncie.
The Cardinals will close out this week's home action with a MAC game against Ohio for their "Think Pink" game. The Ball State marketing department will be giving away rally towels provided by Mutual Bank while supplies last.
The Bobcats are 4-5 overall and 2-0 in conference action. Ohio is coming off a 5-1 road loss Sunday at Drexel. Since 2006, the Bobcats are 11-3 against the Cardinals.
