Field Hockey Falls To CMU In MAC Action Friday

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Ball State field hockey team (2-13, 2-3 MAC) played at Central Michigan (2-15, 1-5 MAC) Friday afternoon in Mid-American Conference action, suffering a 1-0 loss to the Chippewas on their senior day.
Central Michigan's Samantha Glapinski secured the game early on after scoring in the 14thminute off of a penalty corner. The Cardinals failed to capitalize on their six penalty corners but had 11 total shot attempts for the day.
Offensively, redshirt sophomore Sierra Jefferson led Ball State with three shots.
Ball State will now face its sixth nationally ranked opponent this season when it travels to No. 17 Northwestern for a 1 p.m. ET start on Sunday. The Wildcats own an 8-8 overall record and are 3-4 in Big Ten action.
After this weekend, the Ball State field hockey team will close regular season action when it hosts Longwood for its last MAC contest of the season Oct. 27 at the Briner Sports Complex. The game is slated to begin a 1 p.m. ET.
