Men’s Swimming and Diving Fall at Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind.– The Ball State men's swimming and diving team traveled to Evansville Saturday afternoon in hopes of taking down the Purple Aces in their home pool for the first time since the series started in 2010. The Cardinals fell to Evansville, 180-117.
Ball State started out the contest with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay. Logan Ackley, Zach Reichle, Ben Andrew and Krent Hueni came together to post a time of 1:36.99 to earn the two spot.
Reichle, Andrew, and Sean Wolfe were the three Cardinals to pick up individual wins. Reichle earned the top spot in the 100 breaststroke with a final time of 1:00.05. Andrew finished atop the 50 freestyle (21.85) and the 100 butterfly (51.94). Wolfe posted a score of 239.25 in 3-meter diving, earning first place and nine points.
Isaac Walling, Chase Jackson, Adam Pongracz and Drew Weeks were all able to earn second place spots in their events. Walling took the two spot in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:05.17 and in the 500 freestyle (5:02.58), earning eight points for the Cardinals. Jackson's time of 55.55 in the 100 backstroke earned him that second place spot. Pongracz touched the wall at 1:59.99 in the 200 butterfly to earn his second place finish. Weeks was second in the 100 freestyle with a final time of 48.31.
Ball State finished the day with a second place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. The time of 3:16.73 was posted by Reichle. Pongracz, Ackley and Weeks and earns the Cardinals four points.
The Ball State men's swimming and diving team will travel to South Bend, Ind. for its next meet. The Cardinals will take on Notre Dame on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
