Swenson Leads Track & Field on Final Day of Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. - - Senior Kassidy Swenson (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) placed 11th in the 400m hurdles to lead the Ball State track & field team on the final day of the Adidas Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State at Paul Derr Track.

Swenson, who placed fifth in the 400m hurdles at last season's Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships, finished Saturday's race in 1:02.80, less than a second off the MAC automatic qualifying mark of 1:01.89. Joining Swenson in the 400m hurdles was senior Olivia Ashba (Ellettsville, Ind./Edgewood) who placed 20th overall in 1:03.53.

In the Cardinals' only other individual event Saturday, senior Danielle Dahl (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) placed 17th in the 800m run at 2:16.06.

Ball State also ran in four relays on the final day of the meet, with the 4x100m relay leading the charge with a sixth-place time of 46.79.

Next up for the Ball State outdoor track & field team is the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational hosted by Cincinnati. The two-day meet starts March 31 and concludes April 1.
