Men’s Golf Takes Fourth at EY Match Play

DADE CITY, Fla. -- The Ball State men's golf team suffered a 5-1 loss to Miami University in Tuesday's third-place match at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play.

Keegan McKinney was a 4&3 winner at the No. 5 spot in the lineup to provide the Cardinals' lone point of the day.

McKinney and Michael VanDeventer both went 2-1 over their three matches this week to lead the Cardinals at Lake Jovita Country Club.

Notre Dame, who defeated Ball State in Monday's semifinal, took down Seton Hall 3.5 to 2.5 in Tuesday's championship match.

Eastern Michigan defeated Ohio in the fifth-place match, while Toledo beat DePaul for seventh place.

This week's event was Ball State's first of the spring season. The Cardinals will return to action March 10-12 at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.
