Game Notes: Ball State | Austin Peay
- Ball State is off to its best start in program history. The Cardinals remained undefeated (9-0) after its 126-55 win over Oakland City on Sunday, Dec. 10 in Worthen Arena.
- The Cardinals' success this season has them in the receiving votes section of last week's Associated Press Top 25 poll. Ball State turned heads with its 66-60 victory over Big Ten foe Purdue on Dec. 4. It marked the first time since 1979 a Ball State women's basketball team had taken down the Boilermakers. The win also marked the Cardinals' second victory over a Power 5 conference program this season, as Ball State defeated Vanderbilt 88-79 on the road Nov. 20.
- The Cardinals remain one of 10 teams in the nation that are still undefeated. The win over Purdue gave sixth year head coach Brady Sallee his second win over a Power 5 conference this season; Vanderbilt (88-79, 11/20) and Purdue (66-60, 12/04).
- The Cardinals won their ninth straight Sunday, Dec. 10 when Ball State defeated Oakland City 126-55 in Worthen Arena. All 12 players scored in the contest. Ball State set a new Worthen Arena and program record for most points scored in a single-game with the Cardinals 126 point performance. The old record was 106 against Taylor in 1975 and 105 in Worthen Arena versus Bowling Green in 1999. Ball State was assertive on the glass pulling down 62 rebounds, which ties the program record for second most rebounds in a single-game. The last time the Cardinals achieved that goal was in 1979 against IUPUI. Seventy-four points came from the Cardinals bench today. The Cardinals also scored 60 points in the paint.
- Austin Peay enters today's contest with a 7-3 ledger. The Governors are coming off of a 59-47 loss against Big Ten foe Illinois Saturday at the State Farm Center.
- The Cardinals will play the Governors for the fifth time in program history Monday. Ball State leads the all-time series records 3-1. The Cardinals defeated Austin Peay 72-44 in the schools' last meeting in Worthen Arena on Nov. 23, 2015.
