Men’s Golf Concludes Fall Season at Ka’anapali

LAHAINA, Hawaii -- The Ball State men's golf team wrapped up the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic Sunday with a round of 289 (+5).
Keegan McKinney led the Cardinals with a round of 69 (-2) on the final day at the Royal Ka'anapali Course. The team also counted a 72 from Johnny Watts, a 73 from Michael Makris and a 75 from Timothy Wiseman.
Ball State tied for 19th as a team with a 54-hole total of 878 (+26) over the three-day event. Makris was the team's top finisher in a tie for 50th at 217 (+4).
No. 24 Clemson came from 10 strokes back entering the day to win by one with a score of 826 (-26). No. 15 Georgia (-25) was second, while No. 13 LSU (-24) was third. The top seven teams on the final leaderboard were all ranked among the top 40 in the country.
Clemson's Doc Redman finished as the individual medalist at 15 under par, two shots clear of LSU's Sam Burns. The tournament featured 15 of the nation's top-100 players.
Ball State wrapped up its fall schedule with Sunday's round. The Cardinals will return to action Feb. 13-14 when they host the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play in Dade City, Florida.
