
Men's Tennis Suffers 4-3 Loss At Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Ball State men's tennis team suffered a 4-3 setback at Lipscomb Saturday evening in the Richland Country Club. With the loss the Cardinals fall to 6-6 on the season while the Bisons improve to 8-5 in non-conference action.
Ball State took the early 1-0 lead over Lipscomb after Ray Leonard alongside doubles partner Collin Rigney took down Alex Pavel and John Tougher 6-1 on court two. The No. 3 doubles tandem of Lucas Andersen and Matt Helm secured the doubles point with their 7-6 (1) victory over Daniel Hernandez and Thais Minet.
After that, Lipscomb fought back to earn singles wins on court one, three, four and six to take the match from the Cardinals. Andersen took home a singles victory for the Cardinals at the No. 2 singles position with a straight set defeat over Alejandro Manzanares, 6-3, 6-2. Andrew Stutz was also a winner on court five after posting a three set thriller over Pavel, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues its non-conference action when it plays Sunday at Vanderbilt with a 4:30 p.m. first serve.
