Cross Country Posts Six Career Bests At Miami Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Six of Ball State's seven cross country runners earned career-best 5K times Saturday morning at the non-scored Miami Invitational.
Other teams competing versus the Cardinals in the meet were host Miami, Ohio and Wright State.
For the second consecutive weekend, twin sisters Courtney Edon and Caitlynn Edon (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) paced the Cardinals pack, finishing 10th (18:17.63) and 15th (18:30.70), respectively, with each logging career-best times.
Freshman Jessica Bryzek (Brownsburg, Ind./Indiana Academy) was Ball State's third-best runner on the day, placing 39th overall with a career-best effort of 19:31.83.
Also earning career-best times were sophomore transfer Emma Manchess (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights/IPFW) at 19:36.83 (40th), freshman Sarah Hoppes (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) at 20:27.41 (48th) and freshman Rachel Billingsley (Batesville, Ind./Oldenburg Academy) at 20:43.30 (49th).
The Ball State cross country team returns to action next Friday (Sept. 19), when it travels to West Lafayette, Ind., for the Indiana Intercollegiate meet.
