Men's Swimming & Diving Travels To Miami Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team will compete in its final dual meet of the 2010-11 season Saturday, when it travels to Miami for a 3 p.m. Mid-American Conference showdown with the RedHawks.
The meet will serve as the final tune-up for both teams before the 2011 MAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships which will be hosted by Southern Illinois at the Student Recreation Center Pool March 3-5.
Ball State enters the meet with a 1-4 (1-2 MAC) dual record after suffering a 146-87 setback at Southern Illinois in its latest dual meet, Jan. 22. BSU followed the loss with a second-place showing at the Butler Invitational Jan. 23.
The RedHawks own a 3-5-1 (1-2 MAC) record in dual action after suffering a 180-116 loss at Eastern Michigan Jan. 29.
Entering the meet, the Cardinals have 13 student-athletes rank in the top 20 in their respective events in the league rankings.
Junior Gavin McNeeley (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester H.S.) is BSU's top-ranked swimmer, holding the No. 8 slot in the 100 breaststroke (58.81). He is also 12th in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.15).
Junior Chris Krupa (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike H.S.) holds a No. 10 ranking in the 200 butterfly (1:54.19) and is 12th in both the 100 butterfly (50.74) and 200 individual medley (1:56.26). He is also 14th in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.50).
