Men's S&D Hits The Road For Pair Of Meets

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team will continue its busy week with a pair of road meets beginning Saturday with a 10 p.m. (CT) Mid-American Conference dual meet at Southern Illinois.
Sunday, the Cardinals head to Indianapolis, Ind., for the Butler Invitational. The noon swim will take place at Fishers High School and feature Ball state, Hillsdale, Valparaiso and Xavier.
The Cardinals enter Saturday's league showdown with 1-3 (1-1 MAC) dual record including a win over Evansville. The Salukis, who are in their second season as a member of the MAC, enter the week with a 4-3 (0-0 MAC) dual record.
Ball State enters the meet with 14 student athletes ranked in the top 20 in their respective events among Mid-American Conference swimmers & divers.
Junior Chris Krupa (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike H.S.) is BSU's top-ranked swimmer, holding the No. 8 slot in the 200 butterfly (1:54.19) and a No. 11 ranking the 100 butterfly (50.74). He also ranks 12th in the conference in the 200 IM (1:56.26) and 13th in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.50).
Junior Gavin McNeeley (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester H.S.) also holds a No. 8 ranking in the MAC in the 100 breaststroke (58.81) and the No. 11 slot in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.1).
