
Bishel Leads Cross Country At Great American Legends Race

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - - Ball State senior Ali Bishel turned in a fifth place time of 18:37.01 to lead the cross country team at the non-scored Great American Legends Race hosted by Purdue Friday evening.
Purdue's Camille Buscomb won the season-opener for both programs, completing the 5K course in a time of 18:07.63.
Sophomore MaryKate Mellen was the Cardinals second-best runner, coming in 10th with a time of 19:47.66. Rounding out Ball State's top five finishers were redshirt sophomore Madeline Goheen (11th, 19:48.95), senior Kelsey Nielsen (12th, 19:49.52), senior Brittany Ade (13th, 20:02.03) and freshman Esther Tirdado (15th, 20:41.79).
Also competing for the Cardinals were freshman Tiffany Cange (16th, 20:42.14), redshirt sophomore Christine Talhelm (17th, 20:44.03) and sophomore Allison Blanck (19th, 20:52.81).
The Ball State cross country team returns to action at 3:30 p.m. Friday, September 10 at the Sycamore Invitational hosted by Indiana State in Terre Haute, Indiana.
