Men's S&D Travels To IUPUI House Of Champions Meet

MUNCIE, Ind. - - After a nearly two week break, the Ball State men's swimming & diving team returns to the competition pool this weekend when it travels to Indianapolis to compete in the 2010 IUPUI House of Champions meet hosted at the IUPUI Natatorium.
The two-day event begins Friday at 6 p.m. and continues Saturday at 10 a.m. Competing with the Cardinals and host Jaguars will be Center College, Indianapolis, Western Illinois and Xavier.
The Ball State men's squad has competed in the IUPUI House of Champions meet for the last five seasons, taking home the title in the first four before placing second last season. Last season, the Cardinals won three of the 20 events, while posting nine top-three finishes.
This season, junior Chris Krupa (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike H.S.) looks poised to led the Cardinals in his homecoming meet, as he ranks in the top 10 in the Mid-American Conference in three events; the 100 butterfly (4th; 50.92), the 200 breaststroke (7th; 2:11.50) and the 200 butterfly (10th; 1:57.11). He also holds the No. 14 slot in the MAC rankings in the 200 IM (1:58.31).
Fellow junior Gavin McNeeley (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester H.S.) also looks poised to score big this weekend, entering the meet ranked third in the MAC in the 100 breaststroke (58.81) and 10th in the 200 breaststroke (2:13.29).
On the diving board, senior Jeremy Whited (Richmond, Ind./Richmond H.S.) returns as the defending champion on both the one-meter and three-meter boards.
