For her play at the Ball State Invitational, Ball State women’s volleyball junior setter Megan Wielonski has been named the Pridemark Construction Student Athlete of the Week.
Wielonski helped the Cardinals lead all MAC West Division teams with a .283 hitting percentage opening weekend, handling out 10.60 assist per set. Her play allowed Ball State open the season with a .309 attack percentage in the win over Gonzaga and end opening weekend with a .372 rate of success versus Purdue Fort Wayne.
She recorded assist/dig double-doubles against both the Bulldogs (36 assists / 10 digs) and Oklahoma (31 assists / 11 digs). She also led the Cardinals with six service aces, while ranking second on the team with a 3.00 digs-per-set average. As an attacker, she smashed eight kills and hit .438 (8-1-16), helping keep BSU's opponents off balance all weekend.
