For her play in guiding the women’s basketball team to a pair of wins last week, junior Ally Becki has been named the Pridemark Construction Student-Athlete of the Week.
Becki played key roles in wins at Central Michigan Wednesday and over Toledo Sunday, averaging 26 points per game while shooting 71 percent from the field and 66 percent from behind the arc.
She starred with a career-high 36 points against the Chippewas, which ties as the fifth-highest point total in a game in program history. She followed by scoring her 1,000th career point in the nationally televised win over the Rockets and finished the game with 1,006 career points.
Becki’s play helped the Cardinals remained undefeated in league action with a 6-0 mark, extend its current winning streak to 10 games, and pick up six votes in the latest USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll.
