Kayla Hani is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Ball State gymnastics team in 2014-15. She re-joined the Ball State gymnastics program as a student manager for the 2013-14 season after a two-year career as a gymnast for the Cardinals.
Competitive Career:
2010-12: Member of the Ball State gymnastics team for two seasons before suffering a career ending injury.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: A graduate of Paul Hagerty High School . . . also competed for Orlando Metro Gymnastics Club . . . a Level 10 gymnast . . . 2009 USA Gymnastics Florida state and regional beam champion . . . five-time Junior Olympic Nationals Qualifier . . . 2008 USA Gymnastics Regional Beam Champion . . . 2004 USA Gymnastics Level 9 Regional Beam Champion . . . U.S. Challenge/Classic Gymnastics Qualifier . . . six-time Level 10 Regional Qualifier . . . two time USA Gymnastics National TOPs Team Member.
PERSONAL: The daughter of Ernest and Melynda Hani . . . mother competed in track at Delaware State University . . . one sister, Abby, a track student-athlete at Texas State . . . cousin, Sasha Sullivan, was a gymnast at the University of Denver.
