March 30, 2026 | Baseball
The Ball State baseball remains home and finishes its March slate against Xavier at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Shebek Stadium.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and WMUN 92.5 FM / 1340 AM and on the WMUN app. Links to both broadcasts and live stats can be found above and on the schedule page.
Ball State (15-11) is coming off a weekend sweep of Ohio that catapulted the Cardinals to the top of the Mid-American Conference standings with a 10-2 record in MAC play. Brendan Garza was named the MAC Co-Pitcher of the Week after tossing a no-hitter on Friday, while Ryan Muizelaar was named the MAC Player of the Week largely thanks to a 4-for-5 performance with a triple, two home runs and six RBI in Sunday's 17-7 victory.
Xavier (9-20) salvaged a Sunday 6-1 decision after dropping the first two of its initial Big East series at UConn over the weekend.
Head coach Billy O'Conner is in his ninth season in charge of the Musketeers, who were picked to finish third in the eight-team Big East preseason poll.
Xavier ranks second in the league in doubles (46) and third in home runs (29) to this point in the season.
Junior Clay Burdette is the Big East leader in batting average (.377) while ranking second in slugging percentage (.688). Freshman Josh Stonehouse paces the Musketeers in homers (eight) and RBI (18), as the eight home runs are the third-most in the Big East.
Ball State next plays at Miami (Ohio) in a three-game series starting Thursday afternoon.
