Men’s Tennis Hosts Bellarmine & IU East Saturday
January 23, 2026 | Men's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team is riding high after a thrilling 5-2 victory over Xavier last Saturday, January 17, 2026, in its home opener, which marked first-year head coach Gene Orlando's inaugural win.
That momentum carries into a demanding doubleheader this weekend as the Cardinals host Bellarmine and IU East at the 1st Serve Muncie Tennis Center on Saturday. The first match against the Knights has been moved up 30 minutes to start at 11:30 am ET as well as the afternoon match versus the Red Wolves which is set to begin at 3 pm ET. Both matches switched times due to the winter storm watch.
"The Cardinals had a great week of practice, and we are excited to play a very good Bellarmine team and we look forward to our afternoon match against IU East," Orlando said.
Bellarmine comes to Ball State looking for its first win of the season with an 0-2 ledger after falling to Auburn twice on Jan. 10 by a score of 7-0 and 5-0. IU East owns a 4-6 record so far this year.
Last weekend's victory for Ball State saw the Cardinals take the doubles point from the Musketeers while senior Broc Fletcher claimed the match with his two-set win at the No. 5 singles position.
After Saturday, Ball State men's tennis team will travel to Dayton next weekend on Jan. 31. First serve against the Flyers will be at 4 pm ET.
