Men’s Tennis Claims 13th-Straight ITA Academic Team Award

MUNCIE, Ind. - The 2024-25 Ball State men's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team after earning a 3.6 grade point average on Ball State's 4.0 scale. This marks the 13th straight year the Cardinals have earned the team honor.
In addition, seven members of the squad received individual ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades — Ian Brady (3.6), Broc Fletcher (3.6), Drew Hayward (3.7), Jacks Lancaster (3.8), Nathaniel Webster (3.8), Anthony Shalakov (4.0) and Sajin Smith (4.0). Both Webster and Smith have garnered the award four times.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale). All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2024 and spring 2025).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman
