4x400m Relay Team Shines as Ball State Sends Seven Cardinals to the Podium on Final Day of MAC Outdoor Championships

ATHENS, Ohio -- Seven Cardinals reached the podium on Saturday as Ball State completed competition in the 2025 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Ohio University. Top individual scorers for Ball State on the final day of events were hurdler Kenli Nettles and high jumper Malina Miller, who finished second and third in their events, and the 4 x 400-meter relay team which finished second in the championships' final event.
Members of the relay team were Paige Kirtz, Emma Potter, Allison Valalday and Jenna Oriani. Theire finish to conclude the meet matched Ball State's best finish of the afternoon by Nettles, who scored 11 points on Friday with a first-place finish in the heptathlon and eighth place in the long jump. Separately, Oriani earned a fourth-place finish in the 400m dash, with Potter right behind in fifth. In the 200m dash, Alana Springer earned another podium finish in fifth place.
Overall, Ball State finished in eighth place with 47 points. Nettles, who contributed five career-best times while participating in seven heptathlon events, plus the overall long jump and 400m hurdles, contributed 19 standings points over 10 separate events and reached the podium four times. Oriani was a part of 13 standings points, and Potter 12, as each reached the podium twice.
