JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- For the eighth consecutive time since 2017, Ball State will be represented in NCAA outdoor track championship events.
Thursday, Kenli Nettles wears Ball State's red-and-white while competing in the 400-meter hurdles, and event for which she qualified in late April at the University of Central Florida Knights Invitational. Her personal-record time of 58.96 was good enough to reach the field of 48 competitors this week in the NCAA East First Round, with finalists advancing to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 11-14.
Nettles will start in the fourth of six heats on Thursday afternoon in Jacksonville, roughly 200 miles north of Orlando where she recorded the best time of her career one month ago. The 400-meter hurdles event is scheduled to begin at 4:50 p.m., with living streaming HERE and live results posted HERE.
East First Round finals will be conducted on Saturday evening. Should she advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, she will compete in two events on college track & field's biggest stage as she is already qualified for the NCAA heptathlon finals, June 13-14.
