
TF Ready to Compete at Knights Invitational

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State track and field sprinters and jumpers will head to Orlando on Friday (Apr. 25) for the University of Central Florida's Knights Invitational.Â

Last Time Out:Â
Last week the Cardinals were represented at two meets. Shelby Christman opened competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California on Wednesday (Apr. 16) for the 10k race. In her first 10k as a Cardinal, Christman finished 34th with a time of 36:11.49.Â

The other group headed to Terre Haute, Indiana for the Gibson Invitational where Kenli Nettles and Kendra Keesling competed in their first heptathlon of the 2025 outdoor season. Nettles had an outstanding performance, marking two event personal bests and winning with a PR score of 5,517 points. Her finish placed her in the Ball State record book where she now holds the third highest score in program history.Â

For Nettles efforts in the heptathlon, she was named this week's Mid-American Conference's Field Athlete of the Week.Â

Also having a strong performance was Sydney Miller who won the discus throw with a PR distance of 45.65 meters. Â

Next up for Ball State track and field will be Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic next Friday (May 2) and Saturday (May 3). This will be the Cardinals' last regular season meet before MAC Championships begin on May 15 in Athens, Ohio.Â
