ORLANDO, Fla. – Ball State track and field continues breaking into the record book with performances from UCF's Knights Invitational in Orlando this weekend.Â
The Cardinals opened their weekend on the track Friday afternoon with the 400-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash. Kenli Nettles ran an incredible race in the hurdles, shaving nearly three seconds off her previous best time to cross the finish line in 58.96. Her new PR was good for second place and has landed her the third fastest time in Ball State history.Â
In the 200, Alana Springer had a top finish, crossing the finish line sixth with a time of 24.06.Â
Competition on Saturday began with the field events. High jumper Malina Miller got things started after jumping a season best mark of 1.73-meters and finishing fourth overall.
On the track, Ball State's 4x100-meter relay team made up of Moriah Johnson, Springer, Jenna Oriani and Kylee Marshall came out in a dominate fashion, finishing the race in a season best time of 44.99, enough for second overall. The team now holds the 4th fastest relay time in Ball State history.Â
