Baseball Adds a Game with Illinois State on Tuesday, Feb. 25
February 20, 2025 | Baseball
New Home Opener is Earliest in Ball State Baseball History
The Ball State baseball team will now play Illinois State at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Ball Diamond in Muncie for the home opener.
The contest was added as the Cardinals had their final game of the Swig & Swine Classic in Charleston, S.C., canceled due to weather.
The Feb. 25 home opener will be the earliest on the calendar in Ball State baseball history, as the March 8 opener last year was the previous earliest.
Ball State (2-1) opened the year with wins against Towson and Maryland in Charleston. The Cardinals are in California this weekend to play a four-game series with Sacramento State starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Ball State head coach Rich Maloney will have another chance to get closer to the 1,000 career wins milestone, as he currently sits at 990.
