WBB Looks to Remain Undefeated at Memphis Saturday

IT'S GAMEDAY:
This is only the third-ever meeting between Ball State and Memphis. The series record is evened, 1-1 with the Cardinals winning the last meeting by a score of 95-66 in Muncie on Nov. 13, 2024. Prior to that, Ball State played at Memphis in the postseason WNIT on March 20, 2023 falling to the Tigers by a 79-62 decision.
ROAD WARRIORS:
Under head coach Brady Sallee the Cardinals have played well on the road for the last 14 years under his watch. The Cardinals are 112-74 (.599) from 2012 until present on the road. Ball State's best season playing away from home was in 2020-21 when the Cardinals posted an 11-2 mark. Ball State is 2-0 this season on the road with defeats at Arkansas State and IU Indy.
CAREER DAY FOR 2 CARDS:
It was a career day performance for two Cardinals on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025 when Ball State defeated interstate rival IU-Indy by a score of 81-72. Both Bree Salenbien and Tessa Towers had career high 20-point performances. Salenbien and Towers also tallied personal bests in rebounds with Salenbien pulling down 12 rebounds and Towers finished the day with 10.
3-0 FOR THIRD-STRAIGHT SEASON:
The Ball State women's basketball team has started the season with a 3-0 record for the third-straight season and fourth-ever under Brady Sallee. The Cardinals have only went 3-0 five times in program history; 1999-2000 (Brenda Oldfield) 2005-06 (Tracy Roller), 2017-18 (Brady Sallee), 2023-24 (Brady Sallee), 2024-25 (Brady Sallee) and 2025-26 (Brady Sallee).
INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS:
The Cardinals have had plenty of international success under 14th year head coach Brady Sallee. We all remember Nathalie Fontaine the 6-2 guard from Stockholm, Sweden became Ball State's all-time leading scorer with 2,166 points. The 2016 MAC Player of the Year and AP honorable mention averaged 21.0 points per game and 10.2 rebounds while making over 50 percent of her shots. After Fontaine was Carmen Grande a native from Madrid, Spain who held onto the all-time assists record with 697 until Ally Becki surpassed her last season with 721 and we also cannot forget Thelma Dis Agustsdottir from Keflavik, Iceland who holds the all-time 3-point record with 325 treys. Agustsdottir also competed at the Celsius 3-point championship at the NCAA Tournament.
WHAT'S NEXT:
The Cardinals return to Worthen Arena for a highly anticipated match-up against the University of Cincinnati on Thursday, Nov. 20. The game is slated to begin at 6:30 pm ET in Worthen Arena. The Bearcats hold a 9-5 all-time series record over the Cardinals. Ball State's last meeting against Cincinnati was in 2019 on Nov. 16 resulting in a 68-56 loss for the Cardinals. The last game in Worthen Arena was on Nov. 28, 2018 with the Cardinals winning that contest, 75-63.
