October 31, 2025 | Soccer
Addie Chester has been voted the Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Forward of the Year and First Team All-MAC, while Jordyn Klaasen and Lexi Watkins have been named to the All-Freshman Team, the league office announced Friday afternoon.
Chester finished the regular season leading the MAC in goals (11), points (27) and game-winning goals (four) while ranking second in shots per game (3.0) and third in shots on goal per game (1.39). The senior started all 18 games and played in the fourth-most minutes on the team (1,289).
The Muncie, Ind., native joined Avery Fenchel as the only two players in program history to tally multiple double-digit goal seasons after getting 10 in 2024. Chester is one goal behind Fenchel for the best
two-season stretch of scoring in program history (22).
A four-time MAC Offensive Player of the Week awardee, Chester set the program record for weekly awards in a season. She is the second offensive player to win a MAC postseason player of the year award, joining Lexi Fraley who was the 2023 MAC Offensive Player of the Year.
Klaasen started in all 18 games and played the second-most minutes on the team (1,569) as a true freshman. The defender took three shots on the season, including one that found the back of the net in
Ball State's 1-0 win at Eastern Michigan on Oct. 9. Klaasen was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 14 for that performance.
The Zeeland, Mich., native led a backline that posted shutouts against eight opponents in 2025 (five in MAC play).
Watkins got the Cardinals out to a strong start in conference play by scoring the game-winning goal in Ball State's 1-0 win at UMass in the MAC opener on Sept. 14. The midfielder added two assists while starting every match after redshirting during the 2024 season.
The Lawrenceburg, Ind., native took nine shots (four on goal) on her way to helping the Cardinals achieve the 10-win mark in a season for the first time since 2019.
Ball State earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament and is set to take on No. 5 seed Kent State in the opening round at 4 p.m., on Saturday at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
