
Women’s Basketball Has Returned to the Court for Its First Practice of the 2024-25 Season

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's basketball team returned to the court Tuesday for its first official practice of the highly anticipated 2024-25 season. The Cardinals have a lot to look forward to this season after another record-breaking campaign in 2023-24.
Ball State tips off the exhibition season Oct. 30 at home against IU Kokomo and open the regular season by hosting Old Dominion on Nov. 4. Both contests will tipoff in Worthen Arena at 6:30 pm ET.
Head coach Brady Sallee, who begins his 13th year at Ball State, returns eight players from last year's squad including four star-studded starters in Ally Becki, Madelyn Bischoff, Marie Kiefer and Alex Richard. BSU veteran's Sydney Boldenand Ashlynn Brooke, along with identical twin sisters Hailey and Olivia Smith, will also be coming back this season.
The Cardinals welcome transfers Maliyah "MJ" Johnson (Texas A&M), Lachelle Austin (Eastern Michigan), Tessa Towers (Wisconsin) and Elise Stuck (Michigan), along with two true freshmen in Zuri Ransom and Grace Kingery.
Ball State had a highly successful 2023-24 season, with its 28 overall wins and 16 Mid-American Conference victories being program records. The Cardinals earned the No. 2 seed in the MAC Tournament, reaching the semifinals for the third-straight season, and received votes in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll for nine straight weeks during the year. Ball State ended the season by hosting the first round of the inaugural NCAA Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament.
