Women’s S&D Back in Action Friday at IU Indy

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State women's swimming & diving program returns to action Friday when it travels to the IU Natatorium to battle in-state rival IU Indy. Action is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
Last season, the Cardinals earned a 171-119 dual win over the Jaguars at the Lewellen Aquatic Center. It was Ball State's second straight quad win over IU Indy, while the Cardinals also won the 10-team House of Championship meet two weeks later with the host Jaguars finishing sixth.
In last season's dual, the Cardinals won 11 of the 16 events with four swimmers and one diver each picking up a pair of individual wins. All five student-athletes will look to defend their titles from last season.
Those individuals are Payton Kelly (100 & 200 Freestyle), Laura Wright (100 & 200 Breaststroke), Lilia Newkirk (100 & 200 Backstroke), Alexa Von Holtz (200 Butterfly, 400 IM) and Grace Walker (1M & 3M Diving).

In the latest NCAA Division I Top Time Rankings as compiled by CollegeSwimming.com, the Cardinals have nine student-athletes ranked in scoring position in their respective events heading into Friday's dual at IU Indy.
