
Men's Volleyball Signs Two for the 2026 Season

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State men's volleyball announced the signing of Florida natives Dante Cayaban and Tyler Windt Thursday morning. Â
Cayaban is a middle blocker from St. Cloud, Florida (St. Cloud). In the 2023 season, he recorded 32 block assists and 26 block solos, averaging .8 blocks per set. The summer of 2024, Cayaban was a member of the gold medal winning USA U19 National Team at the NORCECA Championship in Puerto Rico. He also played basketball for St. Cloud and was a member of the Winter Park Volleyball Club. Â
"Dante is an elite athlete with strong character and an unbelievable upside as a middle blocker," said Cardinal's head coach Donan Cruz. "We are thrilled to welcome him to the Ball State family." Â
Windt, the outside hitter from Winter Park, Florida (Lake Howell) recorded 370 kills as a junior, averaging 4.4 kills per set and a .343 hitting clip. That same year he also collected 38 block assists and 9 block solos, averaging .6 blocks per set. His efforts helped lead the team to a 30-2 season and a run in the state championships. Â
According to MaxPreps, Windt finished the 2023 season ranked third in the state and 12th nationally. Â
"Tyler is a dynamic outside with a powerful arm and a knack for the ball," said Cruz. His ball control will translate well to the college game. We are looking forward to welcoming him to Muncie and seeing him in Cardinal and white!" Â
