Field Hockey Hosts UC Davis for Tuesday Matinee at Briner Sports Complex

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State field hockey team welcomes UC Davis to the Briner Sports Complex Tuesday at noon. The Cardinals will be giving away slices of pizza to students from Papa Johns while supplies last.

Ball State enters the contest with an overall record of 3-10 while UC Davis comes to Muncie with a 2-10 ledger. Both programs are looking for a victory after the Cardinals recently lost in overtime to Queens Sunday by a score of 3-2 and the Aggies fell 11-1 to No. 2 Northwestern Sunday in Evanston, Ill.

The last time these two teams met was on Sept. 5, 2019, in East Lansing, Mich., resulting in a 2-1 loss for the Cardinals. The Aggies hold a 3-1 record all-time against BSU. Ball State last defeated UC Davis on Sept. 25, 2013, by a score of 3-2 in Muncie.

After Tuesday, the Ball State field hockey team returns to Mid-American Conference action when it hosts Ohio University Friday at 3 pm ET. The Cardinals will close out their home portion of their schedule on Sunday versus James Madison for senior day at 1 pm ET.

Just a reminder fans are encouraged to bring canned food for the Mid-American Conference rivalry week as we celebrate Ball State football's 97th homecoming Saturday against Northern Illinois.
