Women's Basketball Opens MAC Play at Western Michigan Wednesday

- Wednesday's game against Western Michigan will mark the 92nd time in program history the two schools have met with Ball State leading the all-time series record, 52-39. The Cardinals won their last meeting against the Broncos by a score of 80-49 on Feb. 22 in Worthen Arena.
- Ball State owns a 32-8 ledger over Western Michigan dating back to the 2004-05 season. Brady Sallee holds an 19-4 career mark against the Broncos.
- The last time the Cardinals lost to the Broncos in the MAC regular season was in Kalamazoo, Mich., was on March 2, 2019 by a score of 54-72. Since then, Ball State has won eight-straight over Western Michigan.
- The Cardinals are 6-5 in their Mid-American Conference openers under 12th year head coach Brady Sallee and 2-2 when opening league play on the road.
- Ball State ended its 2023 non-conference season with an impressive 95-58 victory over Oakland City on Dec. 30 in Worthen Arena. Against the Mighty Oaks, Madelyn Bischoff led the Cardinals with 16 points. She has reached double digit scoring in nine of the Cardinals 12 games this season. With the win, the Cardinals improved to 10-2 on the season and currently enter Mid-American Conference action with the best non-conference mark.
- Western Michigan is coming off of an 84-47 loss to No. 14 Notre Dame on Dec. 21 in South Bend, Ind. Kaitlyn Zarycki led the Broncos in scoring with 16 points while Jasmine Elder pulled down eight rebounds.
- The conference tournament runs March 13-16 with the league's top eight teams advancing to Cleveland for the quarterfinals, semifinals and the title game on Saturday, March 16.

- In her first 11 contests as a Cardinal, Nyla Hampton has stolen the ball 46 times and has dished out 57 assists. Hampton stole the ball eight times against Tennessee Tech (11/6/23) which marks a season best for her. Hampton is third in the nation in total steals (46) and ranks fourth in steals per game (3.83).
- The Cardinals as a team rank in the top 100 in these categorie: 23rd in steals per game (11.7), 25th in turnovers forced (21.33), 27th in 3-pointers per game (8.8), 39th in winning percentage (83.3), 40th in 3-point attempts (25.0), 47th in bench points (26.1), 48th in turnover margin (4.67), 61st in assists per game (16.0), 64th in 3-point field goal percentage (35.0), 64th in field goal percentage (44.7) and 80th in scoring offense (74.2).
- Madelyn Bischoff ranks 7th in 3-pointers per contest in the country (3.36), 15th in 3-point field goal percentage (47.4) and 24th in total 3-pointers (37).

The Cardinals sit atop of the Mid-American Conference with a 10-2 non-conference mark. Ball State is the only school in league play that has only two losses. As a team, the Cardinals rank first in the MAC in assists per game (16.0), bench points (26.1), field goal percentage (44.7), scoring offense (74.2), steals per game (11.7), turnover margin (4.67) and winning percentage (83.3).
