
Men’s Golf Ready to Host Earl Yestingsmeier Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's golf program brings back one of its annual fall tournaments for the third-straight year, the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, Saturday and Sunday at the Delaware Country Club.
The tournament will be a combination of a team and individual event. The 10-team field will be Ball State, Butler, Bowling Green, DePaul, Detroit, Earlham, Evansville, Oakland, Southern Indiana and IUPUI. Those teams will also have individual participants along with Indiana, Purdue and Cincinnati.
The 54-hole two day event starts with a 9 am ET shotgun with 36-holes on Saturday and is scheduled to end Sunday with 18 holes with the same tee time.
Ball State's five-man team scoring lineup consists of Carter Smith, Griffin Hare, Ali Khan, Kash Bellar and Alec Cesare while the four individuals that will be competing for the Cardinals are Braxton Kuntz, Trey Wilson, Jensen Klondike and Drew Todd.
Ball State's home tournament is named in honor of Earl Yestingsmeier, who spent 36 seasons as head men's golf coach for the Cardinals, including 28 years in a dual role as sports information director and golf coach. The team's most avid fan, Yestingsmeier passed away in 2014. The Cardinals indoor golf facility is named after the late Yestingsmeier.
