Mahoney & Smith Named Academic All-MAC for Men's Golf

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Avery Mahoney and Carter Smith have been named to the 2025-26 Mid-American Conference Academic All-MAC Team for men's golf, announced Thursday by the MAC's league office. A total of 31 student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding achievements in both athletics and academics.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and any transfer in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
For the Cardinals, led by freshmen and transfers the past season, Mahoney, a junior, and Smith, a senior, were standouts on the course and in the classroom.
