Women’s Tennis Dominates Play at Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Ball State women's tennis team (16-3, 5-1 MAC) continues its success on the court in Mid-American Conference action as the Cardinals took home a 6-1 defeat over Western Michigan (11-7, 2-4 MAC) Friday afternoon at Sorensen Courts.
Allison Mullville and Mariya Polishchuk were the first duo off the court in doubles. The duo managed to beat WMU's No. 2 twosome of Kaitlyn Rogosch and Ariane Souligny, 6-3.
The point was then claimed by Emily Desai and Jessica Braun who paired up at the No. 3 slot earning a 7-6 (4) victory versus the Broncos' Karin Hamilton and Audrey Smitek.
The Cardinals carried their momentum into singles play winning on courts one through five. Annika Planinsek would earn the deciding match point for BSU after winning in straight sets after taking frames one and two by a 6-4 decision over WMU's No. 5 player Souligny.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues MAC action when it hosts Bowling Green Friday, April 14 at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center, weather permitting. First serve is at 1 pm ET.
