Women’s Tennis Sweeps Northern Illinois on the Road Sunday in MACtion

DEKALB, Ill. - The Ball State women's tennis team continues its strong play and today's match was no different as the Cardinals earned a 7-0 road sweep on the road at Northern Illinois Sunday afternoon in Mid-American Conference action.
With the win, the Cardinals have extended their win streak to five improving to 18-3 on the season and 7-1 in MAC play while the Huskies drop to 12-14 overall and 2-6 in league action.
Ball State breezed through doubles earning wins on courts two and three to take the first point of the match from Northern Illinois. Mariya Polischuk alongside partner Allison Mulville were the first to exit off the court after earning a 6-1 victory versus NIU's No. 2 doubles tandem Diana Lukyanova and Reagan Welch.
BSU's No. 3 doubles team of Jessica Braun and Emily Desai captured the doubles point for the Cardinals with their 6-3 defeat versus Isabelle Righi and Jenna Horne.
The domination continued in singles action with Ball State taking all six courts from Northern Illinois. Emma Peeler's three set thriller (6-7, 6-4, 6-0) at the No. 3 spot over Nataly Ninova Miroslavova would clinch match point for BSU.
Polishchuk, Amy Kaplan, Braun, Elena Malykh and Mulville rounded out the singles victories for the Cardinals this afternoon.
