Men's S&D Takes Third at Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Ball State men's swimming and diving team turned in another solid performance at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon, placing third overall in the 10-team Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate hosted by Purdue Saturday afternoon.Â

The Cardinals recorded 481 points, third behind Purdue (556.6) and IUPUI (536.5).Â
Â
Fifth-year freestyle sprint specialist Owen Chaye had another impressive meet, recording two individual wins in the 50 freestyle (20.49) and the 100 freestyle (45.54).Â
Â
Senior breaststroke specialist, and reigning MAC Swimmer of the Week, Joey Garberick also had a pair of strong efforts, earning second-place finishes in the 100 IM (50.91) and the 100 breaststroke (55.04).Â

Other second-place efforts came from freshman freestyle specialist Malcolm Slater in the 200 freestyle (1:41.76) and fifth-year butterfly specialist Bryce Handshoe in the 100 butterfly (50.59).Â

Ball State men's swimming and diving program will have its first home meet of the 2023-24 season on Friday, November 3, when it hosts IPPUI in conjunction with the women's squad for Senior Night at the Lewellen Aquatic Center.
